Beau adopts the abandoned creature and resolves that if he ever crosses paths with the person who did this, they'll have words.

I also really want you to know what this means to me - this is more than an 'oh, neat' situation, and the chance to not only have a pokemon I love so much on Beau, but to build an arc with him, is incredible. I am so thoroughly looking forward to this story, and I genuinely cannot thank you enough.
